Psychology is a fascinating and diverse area of study that touches upon many aspects of daily life, seeking to answer questions about how and why people behave the way they do.  An understanding of how people think, feel, perceive and act is relevant to many areas of study and to many different careers.

Psychology is a broad discipline that provides students with a range of practical skills including the ability to:

  • Apply psychological principles to personal, social and group issues;
  • Plan, implement and evaluate research;
  • Think critically and creatively, and use scientific methods to solve problems;
  • Act professionally within an ethical framework

Students hoping to gain professional accreditation as a psychologist are required to complete the Psychology double major (accredited undergraduate sequence), as well as undertake additional study at honours and postgraduate levels.
