Research interests
Current research is investigating pre-and post-migration predictors of tuberculosis in migrants to Australia. Three related projects are being conducted, the first is to examine alcohol and other drug use and service utilisation among Vietnamese in Western Australia; the second is to survey the perceptions of mental health and illness in different ethnic communities in Australia; and the third is to study the prevalence of child and adolescent psychiatric disorders in Hanoi. A key feature of these projects is the close collaboration with other departments and institutions in Australia and overseas.
